These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Toolboxed website and platform operated by Toolboxed Pty Ltd (ACN [to be registered]) ("Toolboxed", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Toolboxed is an online marketplace that connects clients ("Clients") seeking tradespeople services with independent tradespeople ("Tradies"). Toolboxed is not a party to the contract formed between Clients and Tradies for the performance of services. We provide a platform to facilitate those connections.
To use Toolboxed you must be at least 18 years of age, be an Australian resident or a business entity registered or operating in Australia, and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts. By registering on the platform you confirm that you meet these requirements.
You must register an account to post jobs or quote on jobs. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with any other person. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account. Toolboxed reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
Clients agree to: provide accurate and complete descriptions of the work required; respond to Tradies in a timely manner; pay for services accepted through the platform; release payment only when they are genuinely satisfied with the completed work; and not attempt to arrange work with Tradies outside the platform in order to avoid fees.
Tradies agree to: provide accurate information about qualifications, licences, ABN, and insurance; hold all licences legally required to perform the services they offer; hold current public liability insurance; quote honestly and perform work to a professional standard; not misrepresent their qualifications or experience; and not solicit Clients to pay outside the platform.
Clients pay no platform fee. Tradies pay a monthly subscription fee as published on the Pricing page. All fees are in Australian dollars and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Toolboxed reserves the right to change fee structures with 30 days' notice.
Clients' payments are held in a secure holding account until the Client confirms satisfactory completion of the job. Funds will be released to the Tradie following Client confirmation or, if no dispute is raised, automatically after a defined completion window. In the event of a dispute, funds will be held pending resolution.
If a dispute arises between a Client and a Tradie, either party may raise a dispute through the Toolboxed platform. Toolboxed will make reasonable efforts to facilitate a fair resolution. Toolboxed's decision is final for the purposes of releasing held funds, but does not restrict either party from pursuing remedies through applicable Australian law.
All reviews on the Toolboxed platform must be honest and based on genuine experiences. You must not post fake, misleading, or defamatory reviews. Toolboxed reserves the right to remove reviews that breach these requirements. Reviews are verified as being associated with a completed job on the platform.
You must not use Toolboxed to: engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or deceptive conduct; post false or misleading job listings or profiles; harass, abuse, or threaten other users; post content that is unlawful, offensive, or violates third-party rights; circumvent any security measures on the platform; or use automated means to access or scrape the platform.
All content on the Toolboxed platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to Toolboxed and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Toolboxed's liability to you for any loss or damage arising in connection with your use of the platform is limited to the fees paid by you to Toolboxed in the 12 months preceding the claim. Toolboxed is not liable for the acts or omissions of Tradies or Clients, or for the quality or safety of services performed. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Toolboxed, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Toolboxed may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, any pending jobs must be completed or cancelled appropriately, and any outstanding payments will be processed according to our payment policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or through the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Toolboxed Pty Ltd ("Toolboxed", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We collect personal information that is necessary to operate the Toolboxed platform, including:
We collect information directly from you when you register, post a job, or complete a form. We also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use our platform. We may receive information from third parties, such as identity verification services.
We use your personal information to: operate and improve the Toolboxed platform; match Clients with appropriate Tradies; process payments and manage transactions; verify Tradie identity, licences, and ABN; send service and transactional communications; respond to enquiries and provide support; comply with our legal obligations; and detect and prevent fraud.
We may share your personal information with: other platform users where necessary to facilitate a job (e.g., your suburb and job description is visible to relevant Tradies); our payment processing partners; our technology and hosting providers; government authorities where required by law; and professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants where necessary. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include encryption of data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Toolboxed uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience, remember your preferences, and analyse how our platform is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser, but disabling cookies may affect platform functionality.
Some of our third-party service providers may be located overseas (e.g., cloud hosting services). Where we disclose information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with Australian privacy standards.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; complain about a breach of the APPs; and in certain circumstances, request deletion of your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@toolboxed.com.au.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at privacy@toolboxed.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
The Toolboxed platform is not directed at persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email or through the platform. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
